Our Training Programme
We offer a free training programme designed to tackle intergenerational poverty by turning participants into job-ready runners.
Working as a runner is the most common route into a career in the film and TV industry. Our 11-week, transformative workforce development programme will provide hands-on, industry-informed training alongside the contacts necessary for starting out.
Week by week, the participants will be exposed to the wide range of career paths in the film industry. They will meet film and television production professionals working on location, in production houses, at sound stages and in post-production facilities who are working in a wide range of departments, e.g. camera, lighting, art, costume and make-up, production, editing and VFX.. The course focuses on building confidence and promoting self-sufficiency as participants navigate their new career. Participants will gain key competencies in teamwork, communication, accountability and technical production, leaving the course with the skills and knowledge needed to launch careers and flourish in the industry.
Each participant will be provided with an individual needs assessment, mentoring, and community-building support. On successful graduation, participants are matched with paid freelance roles to gain immediate on-the-job experience and build professional reputations and networks.
Graduates in the US have gone on to successful careers including producers, lighting directors, make-up artists and in the camera department.
Who can apply?
To be eligible for the programme, applicants should be:
Aged 18 or over
Able to commit to an 11 week programme, running on Saturdays, in London
Have been impacted by one or all of the following:
The care system
Imprisonment
Homelessness

Our application deadline is Friday 21st August 2026 for the Autumn 2026 cohort.
For those admitted, full-day classes are held every Saturday at locations throughout London.
